During the 1.5-hour guided tour with one of the "museum angels", visitors gain an insight into the history of the region and the town of Baumholder.
The founding of the military training area and the associated relocation of 14 villages is discussed, as is the American way of life, which increasingly took hold in Baumholder from the 1950s.
In the second section of the permanent exhibition, the guided tour participants learn how the American military base in the town affected the lives of the people and how a long-lasting German-American friendship developed from it, partly interactively.
Tours are available in German and English by appointment.
Special tours for children and young people are also available.
